The Shamanic Approach to Therapy: healing with the Intelligence of the Living

With the ACT® Shamanic Approach to Therapy, we activate the Ally resources of the Living that are needed for our intention. It is a time of reunion with Life and with our true nature.

The Shamanic Approach to Therapy calls upon Nature, Spirits, and the informational fields of the Universe to heal disharmonies — from the physical to the spiritual plane, and within our connection to the world.

Our symptoms are a call from the soul to evolve; all we need is to relearn how to collaborate with the benevolence and intelligence of the Living in order to grow together.

ACT uses shamanic techniques to explore the different systems involved, identify the blockages and their origins, and bring appropriate healing responses to the whole system concerned. This work calls upon informational fields that are often absent from the client’s or therapist’s usual frame of reference.

During a session, the practitioner works in a state of shamanic consciousness in order to access a broader vision and collaborate with Spirit fields. Through this expanded perception, they can sense the wider system from which the person emerges, as well as the different dimensions involved — ancestry, life path, health, professional life, environment, and more.

Through the ACT methodology, the practitioner calls in the missing resource, which can then enter the person’s field, clear interferences, and re-inform the areas that require healing. This process may unfold over several sessions, allowing the different layers of consciousness involved to progressively integrate the new information.

The client actively collaborates in the healing process by strengthening their connection with this Resource Spirit in daily life.

How an ACT therapy session works

I've always been on the lookout for a therapeutic system that intelligently integrates all dimensions of being and known psychotherapeutic techniques. ACT is the perfect prototype for new-generation therapies that include quantum medicine, current therapies and traditional medicines.

The role of the therapist

The true role of the shaman — the Medicine Man or Woman — is to serve as an intermediary with the Intelligence of the Universe, a guardian of balance between the different systems and worlds, visible and invisible.

As such, they are in service to Nature, humanity, and society, rather than engaged in a charismatic pursuit of personal power.

In shamanic healing, the therapist calls upon the informational fields of the Universe to bring in the resources and remedies needed to restore balance and support growth in alignment with each person’s deepest nature. These vibrational or informational fields are known in the shamanic tradition as Spirits.

For example, the practitioner may work with the Spirit of Clarity, Coherence, Wisdom, Drum, Healing, or Strength, according to the needs of the situation, the client, or the place. These informational fields are then brought into the client’s system in order to regenerate it and encourage new, more harmonious ways of being and acting.

Who is shamanic healing for

Shamanic healing addresses not only the individual, but also their family, home, workplace, and professional activity.

The shamanic vision perceives all things as interconnected and takes into account not only the individual, but also their clan, the groups within which they evolve, their environment, and their professional path. In this way, shamanic practices engage with all areas of life, helping human beings restore harmony with their true nature and surroundings.

From this perspective, any imbalance points to the omission of an essential element or life principle that needs to be reintegrated.
